Abstract

Corona virus infections have spread widely to affect tens of millions. The very limited time
allowed to face the COVID-19 pandemic poses a pressing challenge to find proper
therapeutic approaches. Efforts made to identify commercially available drugs in order to
repurpose them against coronavirus will be highlighted in this talk. Different and integrating
strategies for repurposing will be identified and explained, including: the multitude of
potential targets on the pathogen (SARS-CoV2), as well as effector targets on the human
host, and Computer Aided Drug Design made for a tsunami of drug repurposing projects.
Among the discussed repurposed classes are: antiparasitic, antibiotics, antivirals, and
immunological.
