Abstract

Pakistan is ranked 78th, out of total 113 countries in Global Food Security Index 2016. Pakistan has secured a 55.6 score under SDG's global index and consequently ranked on 122 out of 157 nations on the SDG index. Specialized SDG units have been established at provincial and federal levels for the effective implementation of the program. FAO is working in close association with FATA secretariat for the sustenance of agriculture- based livelihoods. FAO and UNDP are working to revamp the agricultural activities countrywide including animal health, marine fisheries assessment, agriculture farmer field schools, irrigation development, and kitchen gardening and women empowerment. FAO has built up a unique statistical database that ranges from food production of the country to the information regarding food security. Many initiatives have been taken to reduce hunger and food insecurity but many challenges like the dramatic climate change, increasing need and subsequent decline in natural resources, illiteracy and, increasing poverty are augmenting hunger and food insecurity. In order to tackle and conquer the growing hunger crisis, scientists should create better biotechnological techniques and take concrete actions to improve the quality of education, nutrition and the production of food. FHS in Brazil delivers the PHC with the help of public health system. The increase in FHS coverage was not identical and was related to small size population. Efforts of FHS depend on the new policies which will cover private and public sectors.
